We create change for life
YWCA works every day to eliminate racism and empower women. Through advocacy and local programming, we create real change for women, families and communities.
We Empower our Members
The YWCA empowers members by making sure your individual wellness goals are our top priority. We offer strength training equipment, a variety of cardio machines, free weights, 3 group exercise studios, a large yoga studio, & gymnasium. Y Wellness addresses health, wellness education and obesity prevention for families and those that battle chronic disease through educational events, cooking classes and fitness opportunities.
We Empower Women
The YWCA helps empower women with Substance Use Disorder through the Hawley House and related Project New Start. These programs build stronger communities by rebuilding broken lives and reuniting families. Outcomes sought for clients of these programs include the following: better physical and mental health, gainful employment making a living wage, reliable housing and reunification with families when appropriate.
We Empower Youth
The YWCA helps empower low income and at-risk youth to be successful in school by focusing on children’s academic achievement & soft skills development. We achieve this through the Best Choice Center’s After School Program and Summer Camp for children. We are also involved in youth intervention services by operating two well-respected juvenile crime prevention programs – Teen Court and Work & Earn It.
