Summer Camp 2013

Looking for the best camp summer in town? Look no further.We’ve got exciting new affordable camp options for kids from K-8^th grade. This summer the YWCA of Winston-Salem is excited to introduce a brand new way of 'doing camp’. With four unique camp programs to choose from, there’s something every kid will love. Your child will have a blast this summer as they make new friends, learn new skills, explore interests, face challenges, build self-esteem and have fun!

After School Care

Here at the Gateway, we offer after school care for children in K-5th grade. This program provides children with a safe environment after school which includes homework help, weekly swimming, computer lab time, wellness activities, guest speakers, nutrition program, and discount on kid's sports programs and swim team.

Member Rates: $200/month for 1st child, $175/month for 2nd child, $170/month for each additional child.
Potential Member Rates: $260/month for 1st child, $245/month for 2nd child, $240/month for each additional child

There is a $25 registration fee per child. All students must be picked up by 6:00pm.

Current pick-up sites are Meadowlark Elementary, Moore Elementary, Downtown Elementary, Kimmel Farm Elementary, Jefferson Elementary, Arts Based Elementary and Forsyth Academy. If your school is not listed, please call the Gateway at 354.1590 ext 300 or Best Choice Center at 336.722.0597 ext 0.

In February the children will be focusing on Multi-Cultural Diversity and participating in the 4th Annual African American Read-In.

After School Swim Care

If your child is on the swim team or taking swim lessons directly after school, why not let us provide transportation to the Gateway. We can pick up at the schools above and bring to the pool for lessons or practice and you can pick up on your way home. The cost is $100 a month for transportation in addition to the swimming fees. Fun Days

The YWCA Gateway Fitness Center is excited to offer a fun and exciting experience for area youth on designated School Holidays and Teacher Workdays. The program is open to ALL students (K-8^th grades). FUN DAYS will be jam-packed with a variety of dynamic and rewarding activities and events that your child will love.

FUN DAYS are free to children who are already enrolled in the Gateway Afterschool Program. For children not in the program, the fee is $25/day for members and $35 for potential members.

Child Watch

The Gateway provides the child watch service to parents as they enjoy our fitness facility. It is available to all YWCA members for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years of age and is located on the second floor. Parents must remain in the building during the time the child is in Child Watch and the parent must be able to change diapers.

Youth Wellness Center

Not only does the Youth Wellness Center provide great exercise programs for children, but older children can workout and have some fun while parents workout.

The Youth Wellness Center is located on the 2nd floor right next to the Fitness Center. Parents can sign in their children to stay for up to 1 1/2 hours. Any child age 6-12 years old may be signed in and parents must remain in the building. There are kid sized exercise bikes, Wii fit, Dance Dance Revolution, hula hoops, exercise balls, mats and more!

**PLEASE NOTE** The Youth Wellness Center will be operating on Holiday Hours from Monday, April 1st - Friday, April 5th.
