Hawley Day Festival
Thank you to all of the sponsors, wreath decorators, vendors, chili cooks and volunteers who made this year's event such a success. Your generosity helped us raise over $10,000 at the 16th Annual Hawley Day Festival and Chili Luncheon. The proceeds from this event support programs at the YWCA Hawley House.
The Hawley House is the only licensed residential facility in Forsyth County that supports women overcoming the disease of addiction. The program is a 9-12 month structured residential rehabilitation program with an additional 6 months of aftercare required. The program works to introduce the women back into the community through education, work related programs and community service. The Hawley House also supports the Project New Start program which begins in the Forsyth County Jail and meets for a Bible Study with the women inmates once a week. These women are then invited to a support group at the Hawley House after being released. The goal of these programs is to help stop recidivism and help these women become productive members of society.
Please plan to join us in December, 2012, for the 17th Annual Hawley Day Festival and Chili Luncheon. For more information contact Jeff McPherson at 336722-5138 ext. 225.
