Features and Amenities
Not only is the Gateway a health and fitness center, but a community center. We help people to get fit physically, mentally AND connect with family and friends. The Gateway offers separate locker rooms for men and women, complete with a separate sauna and a steam room in each. We also offer locker rooms for young men or women ages 15 and under and a family changing room. For all members, there is a nursery for children 9 months to 5 years of age. Additionally, we offer a family fitness area with interactive gaming designed for children ages 6-15 and their parents.
Three AAU regulation size basketball courts are available to you in our Mary Garber Basketball Arena. A 1/10th mile indoor walking track overlooking the courts is open at all times.

The Helen C. Hanes Aquatic Center is an 8 lane competitive pool with the largest indoor Water Park in the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County area. This is also available for birthday party rentals. We have USA competitive swim team practices, our own YWCA year round swim team, swim lessons, water exercise classes, and an open area for recreational water activities.
Computer LabThe Gateway has a 6-station computer lab available for community use. Access to the internet is provided through WinstonNet.
Special and detailed precautions have been taken to ensure the safety and privacy of all of our visitors to the computer lab.
Free computer classes are provided routine through the public library and WinstonNet. Please inquire at our front desk for information on accessing the lab.
Cyber Café Meet your friends or catch up on some reading while your active kids are in Gateway classes. Our cyber cafe’ area features wide screen TVs, free WiFi internet, a library and a smoothie bar.
Meeting Space
You can hold your next small group meeting at the YWCA Gateway. Our multipurpose room is ideally located along our lengthy hallways providing easy access and inspiring views. The meeting space is great for retreats, workshops and community meetings.
