Health & Wellness
Health & Wellness
Issues of health and wellness
are more important than ever in our community and across the nation. The YWCA focuses on strengthening the whole person by offering a range of classes, educational fairs and special events that promote healthy living.
Because people come in all shapes, sizes and skill levels so do YWCA health and wellness programs. We cater to those taking their first fitness steps as well as those training for marathons. Our Nautilus center features handicapped accessible equipment specifically designed for our less mobile visitors. Yoga, Pilates and tai chi classes are offered several times a week to meet a growing demand. Through these and other services, the YWCA remains committed to "Fitness for All Abilities."

Support Services for Safe and Healthy Living (SSSHL)
Supportive Services for Safe & Healthy Living (SSSHL) ensures the delivery of effective services to those with the greatest needs, especially women seeking a positive lifestyle change.
The program teaches women to better manage their lives and provides life and social skills training leading to employment, increased literacy, economic enhancement and long-term self-sufficiency.
Weekly Family Fun Nite activities allow women and their families to dine together, share special accomplishments and enjoy fun activities.
Regular Bible Study sessions provide opportunities for spiritual development and sharing.
Through the Hawley House and Project New Start, SSSHL reaches out to women at critical moments in their lives. |
